Council appoints Ildikó Gáll-Pelcz as new ECA Member

​On Tuesday 16 May 2017, the Council of the EU appointed Ms Ildikó Gáll-Pelcz from Hungary as new Member of the European Court of Auditors.

    Ms Ildikó Gáll-Pelcz (Hungary) has been appointed as an ECA Member from 1 September 2017 to 31 August 2023.

The ECA College of Members, in its new composition, will meet in September to decide on the chamber to which the new Member will be assigned and to determine her specific duties. An updated organisation chart will then be published on the ECA website.

ECA Members are appointed by the Council after having been proposed by their respective Member States and after consultation with the European Parliament.

The ECA Members’ terms of office are renewable. The Treaty requires them to perform their duties in complete independence and in the general interest of the European Union.
