Speakers Europe Lecture
Estonian IT scientist and former executive at Skype, Linnar Viik, and Research Professor 'Interfacing Law and Technology', Mireille Hildebrandt, were the speakers of the 16th edition of the Europe Lecture. This lecture was organised in cooperation with the Prinsjesfestival.

Linnar Viik is an Estonian information technology entrepeneur and IT visionary. He has been instrumental in the push for the digitalisation of Estonia. Linnar Viik has been involved in the Estonian internet voting and electronic signature projects. He has been advising the Estonian government on IT and co-founded several companies.
Mireille Hildebrandt is a tenured Research Professor on 'Interfacing Law and Technology' at Vrije Universiteit Brussels (VUB). In 2018 she was awarded an ERC Advanced Grant (2.5 million euro) for the fundamental research project ‘Counting as a Human Being in the Computational Law’ on the cusp of law and computer science.
