Europese Ombudsman verlengt inspraakperiode openbare dienst EU (en)

The European Ombudsman, P. Nikiforos Diamandouros, has extended until 15 June 2011 the deadline for submitting comments on his draft “public service principles”. The extension follows requests to that effect received from several organisations. Citizens, interest groups, and other organisations were originally invited to submit comments by 15 May.

The draft public service principles take account of best practice in the Member States and aim to set out clearly and concisely the fundamental ethical principles that should guide the professional conduct of EU civil servants.

The full public consultation document (available in 23 languages), as well as documents relating to the consultation of the European Network of Ombudsmen, are available at: http://www.ombudsman.europa.eu/en/resources/otherdocument.faces/en/10111/html.bookmark

The European Ombudsman investigates complaints about maladministration in the EU institutions and bodies. Any EU citizen, resident, enterprise or association in a Member State can lodge a complaint with the Ombudsman. The Ombudsman offers a fast, flexible, and free means of solving problems with the EU administration. For more information: http://www.ombudsman.europa.eu
