Carla van Baalen's perspective on the future of EuParl.net

In her foreword of the december 2010 newsletter, Carla van Baalen, member of the Board of Directors, sets out a vision on the future of the European Information and Research Network on Parliamentary History.

To ensure continuity and to turn EuParl.net into a succesful and thriving network, Van Baalen advocates the plan to hire a professional coordinator. He or she, preferably a parliamentary historian, will be put in charge of the most important practical matters concerning the implementation and coordination of activities such as working conferences, symposia, publications and the formulation of a joint research plan. To facilitate a professional coordinator, a possibility would be to apply for financial support from the EU.
