EESC organiseert tweedaagse conferentie 'op weg naar een duurzaam economisch en sociaal herstel' (en)

The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) organises a major conference on March 18 and 19 to reflect on Europe 2020 and to come up with elements for a road map of concrete recovery action, in the wake of the most serious economic and social crisis.

Titled "An EU Road Map for Sustainable Economic and Social Recovery", the conference is to draw up a detailed set of propositions to boost Europe's economy. The EESC earlier considered the European Commission's initiative Europe 2020 "lacking ambition" in failing to propose better economic and fiscal policy coordination and employment security.
