Groep over toekomst van Europa spreekt over terrorisme en migratie (en)

Prevention of terrorism and the general approach to migrations will be the issues to be debated at the High Level Group meeting on the future of European policy concerning home affairs.

Rui Pereira, the Portuguese Minister for Home Affairs will preside at the meeting and Franco Frattini, vice-president of the European Commission, António Vitorino, Gilles de Kerchove (EU Counter-terrorism Coordinator) and the ministers from Germany, Slovenia, France, Sweden, the Czech Republic, United Kingdom and Spain will debate the fundamental questions in the ambit of prevention and fight against terrorism. They will also tackle the present issue of migrations, in a global perspective and in a future horizon beyond 2010, in the ambit of the policy for home affairs in the European Union. 

Rui Pereira and Gilles de Kerchove, who was recently invested, will deliver speeches on the prevention of terrorism.

Ex-commissioner António Vitorino and the minister for Home Affairs from the Czech Republic will specifically address the issue «Migration Policy».

The Future Group met for the first time in Eltville, Hesse, under the German presidency, in May 2007 and it includes vice-president Frattini and the six ministers for Home Affairs from the two trios of presidencies, including Portugal.
