EU veroordeelt bomaanslag op trein tussen Pakistan en India (en)

The Presidency of the European Union condemns in the strongest possible terms the murderous attack on the "Friendship Express" between India and Pakistan which killed and injured so many people in northern India today. It offers its sincerest condolences to the families of the victims and wishes those injured a swift and complete recovery.

This act of mindless violence in the run-up to Pakistan Foreign Minister Kasuri's visit to India is clearly intended to disrupt the process of rapprochement between Pakistan and India.

The Presidency of the European Union calls upon all parties in India and Pakistan to oppose further acts of violence and to resolvedly continue down the path of dialogue chosen.

Those responsible must be swiftly identified and brought to justice.
